Tours and Presentations

Most of our volunteers have not studied horticulture, history, or biology at college, but through spending time 'working the land', they have developed a great general knowledge of all things related to Ulistac.  Our volunteers are more than happy to share that knowledge with you. We can offer volunteer led tours of Ulistac Natural Area, or we can come to you and give your group a presentation.

Our tours of Ulistac and presentations are free of charge, however, we would appreciate any size of donation to help us to cover our running costs and continue our restoration efforts at Ulistac. Donations can be made via our donate page on the website, or by check (made out to UNAREP, Inc) or cash in person.

Tours and Educational Visits

We are always excited to show people around Ulistac and share our stories!  We can cater for your individual group on our tours, whether that be making them child friendly for our younger visitors, more detailed for the more experienced audience, or focusing on a specific topic (restoration, birding, plants, Ohlone etc). We are also able to adapt the length of the tour to suit your needs.  Fill in the tour form with as much information as possible and we will do our best to meet your needs.

We are also able to create educational programs to suit your class.  If you have a curriculum topic that can be linked with Ulistac, we will do our best to work with you to make a  visit educational and fun.

Due to the environment at Ulistac, groups of 20 people or less are the ideal size to join us for a tour. We can manage up to 30 people at a push, but due to being in the great outdoors and the associated noise (planes!) it would be difficult to make ourselves heard with a larger group.

When deciding on a date, please be aware that parking is restricted on days when there is an event at Levi's Stadium. Details of events at Levi's can be found on their website.

Presentations

Can't make it to Ulistac? We can come to you! We are willing and able to visit schools, colleges, libraries, senior centers, and activity groups etc to share our knowledge.

Presentations can be tailored to the needs of your group. We can offer talks on the progression of Ulistac over the years, how to restore native California habitat, milkweed and Monarch butterflies, drought tolerant gardening, and other Ulistac-related topics. Give us a topic*, a room, an audience and tell us how long we have to talk then leave us to it!  We can provide visuals through a powerpoint presentation if you have that available, or we can do it the 'old-fashioned' way.

Please be aware that, if you request a presentation, you are responsible for providing/reserving a room for the presentation to be held. Presentations are normally restricted to the South Bay area.

*within reason!
